The design for the new identity for The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Greensburg emphasizes the foundation’s role as the philanthropic arm of the diocese. The identity reflects the foundation’s driving purpose, to solidly support of the diocesan mission to proclaim in word and action the Gospel of Jesus Christ through philanthropic initiatives that include fundraising, awarding grants and the stewardship of assets. The four sails represent the four counties of the diocese, whose parishes, schools and charitable outreach efforts are distinct entities working together with the cross of Christ at the center of all those efforts. The design symbolizes a traditional image of the church as the barque of Peter that is perpetually delivering all people toward salvation, while being uniquely relevant to the Diocese of Greensburg.
